Here is what I do know. In this state, it has been so hard for me to get excited about anything. Indeed, even life. I have pondered for nearly a year on my course of action. Always thinking about travel and living outside of the United States. This, and with my immense curiosity of the world, my need to experience other cultures, and a great need to douse myself in a city (permanent base) and an intellectually satisfying career means that it is time to move.
For a long time, I kept focusing on things that interest me: History, anthropology, politics, tennis, travel, adventure, cultures. Then, I need to focus on work that I enjoy.
This would be what? What do I enjoy to do?
Well, I enjoy creating things. I life making money. I want to pay of my debts. I want to do something that is intellectually satisfying. I have decided that within 3-5 years, I am going to apply for the Foreign Service Officer exam.
All I can think about is being abroad and being in the field. BUT, I also know that by doing so, I do not want to live an intellectually unfulfilled life AND AND AND I do not want to live as a vagabond. Yes, I do want financial success. I want to have money to travel, pay off my debt and buy a house. I will retire financially comfortable and I would like to be able to go into some sorts of ventures.
Now, that being said, I am approaching my 30th birthday and the time to act is now.
So far, I have looked into several graduate programs but have failed to pull the trigger on ANY OF THEM.
Think back to college. What classes did you like the best?
-POOP! I am so over this. My roommate is sitting across from me and I think he needs to get fucked....by ME!
